Ignited, an emulator for iOS devices with GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, NES, SNES, N64, DS, AgameGear, MasterSystem, and Genesis, has just been Green lit to FlightTest, the AppStore’s beta testing program. This is very promising for a future release on Apple’s official AppStore. Until now, you needed to side load it via SideStore or similar side loading apps. Ignited is a fork of Delta with more options. You need to be a Patreon to access it, but it means that ignited will not take one of your 3 side loads (really only two usable) in non programmer accounts.
I’d be shocked if it made it to the AppStore
Shocked, but thrilled. But also VERY shocked. But in a good way.
This will be interesting. I’d bet money Apple yanks the TestFlight once they realize what it is.
Yeah or Nintendo finds this guys and sends him a 8.2 billion dollar fine.
Even nintendo can’t go after emulators. Emulation of systems is pretty well solidified as allowed in all courts where it matters.
Apple just don’t want emulators because they want you to spend money on games on their app store where they get to take 30% for hosting the files
I’m in. Looking forward to trying it out.
