Not to worry, Siege doesn’t need to drop the ball with a sequel because it already dropped the ball with its first release.

When it first launched, the biggest departure from Rainbow Six was a guy who could revive people by throwing a syringe at them.

Oh the Dev team is fully aware of that, one look at the story cinematics (with the character of Deimos) the team has released starting a year ago will make that very clear.

Not to mention with the absolute BANGER that was the Six Invitational tournament which has just ended (Seriously, watch the grand final highlights whenever they come out), the popularity of the R6 franchise may just skyrocket and outgrow its legacy.

I know they’re aware that they made a game that’s nothing like old Rainbow Six, and that’s the part that sucks. If they want it to outgrow its legacy, they ought to call it something else and make an actual Rainbow Six game again.

I loved Siege but I just can’t play it anymore. I hate that operators are damn near super heroes now. They changed all the maps for better gameplay but they don’t make any sense as actual locations. The destruction is so damn good and fun but I need a little bit of realism.

Agree about the operatives. I played from launch until ~2020 iirc, and had an absolute blast back then but gave up partly because things got too far fetched.

That’s true for a game like Apex, where the maps are huge and constantly changing. Rainbow Six is extremely difficult to pick up from scratch because every pixel of every map is memorized by your entire lobby. I feel like a sequel here and there would be necessary to keep player counts high.

The only game that is well known for taking several minutes to launch on modern computers. And endless connection issues
