    Garvey is only at the top because there are three Democrats in the race who are splitting the Democratic vote. The Democrat will easily win the runoff.

      The article doesn’t provide the poll and doesn’t reference any numbers, just three names. Schiff, Porter, and Garvey. Seeing as how Garvey is the only Republican, and how blue California is, it is more likely that the poll shows Garvey in top because there is still a primary and the polls are split on the Democrat side.

        Schiff is promoting Harvey because he doesn’t want to face Porter in a primary. Schiff knows he’d win handiky if running against a republican.

        It’s cold calculus and it’s what he’s doing (according to Porter).

      The Dems aren’t making a mess. Stop being Chicken Little and read more deeply on things.

      Harvey will never win in a statewide election. Schiff would rather face him, therefore, and has helped that along.

        Yeah this move actually makes perfect strategic sense in a jungle primary. I would prefer Porter win but Schiff is making the correct campaign move.
