When I hear “I got fired for my political beliefs”, I think “they got fired for being a contrarian blowhard with no impulse control”.

He’s a humorist. It’s not supposed to be that funny. Just humourous.
Edit - was thinking of Steve Allen. Time to see the neurologist.
Leg warmers are back.
I was thinking that. The first time I saw this I didn’t look closely and thought “yes, this is pretty much how I remember it, except I’d be scared that guy was going to ash out his cigarette in my burger and slap me on the back of the head as he leaves because he’s probably one of my cousins”.
Stock split to make him feel important. I’m guessing, of course. Plus he probably thought this make the company more valuable.
You have this correct which I why it is so ridiculous that they not only agreed to hear this but did so in a way that both allows Trump to avoid prosecution and will result in a legal precedent that he can use to stay in office and commit crimes while there. Pretty great for Trump.
I’ll just divert all my calls and texts to my wife’s phone and have my son handle all my administrative tasks. I’m also refusing to check email before noon and I decline meetings because they are not productive.

People are having a really hard time understanding that, yes, he is facing consequences at long last. The next step is seeing if the RNC will foot the bill.
In a city I lived in the built a speed skating ring in the middle of the city for some national winter games and it’s used as a free skating oval in the winter and running track when it’s warm. That scale of infrastructure seems ok and it’s much beloved by the people. However, that’s so different from a massive stadium.
This was true of NFL stadiums for US cities last I checked, which was several years ago. In general this stuff looks like a prestige project that rarely produces enough residual benefit to the hosting city to make it worthwhile.
Not just Europe. Much like today, it was a very popular option for people all over the world, including the good, old US of A.
