Hi guys! Is there any apps that shows me the radar and chances of rain to recommend? Thanks in advance
I just use a shortcut to https://radar.weather.gov
If you want an actual forecast, wind and cloud cover data, and smooth, granular control of the timeline then Flowx is basically this but better.
Static, nationwide images in 12 hour increments aren’t nearly so useful, though.
Your point still stands, but NWS does have some nicely succinct local forecasting too, like the weather story for Chicago here:
I use Breezy Weather for a forecast of the chance to rain on an hourly basis, and wX for a radar. Hope this helps!
Breezy Weather is part of the IzzyOnDroid FDroid repository, and wX is part of the normal FDroid repository seemingly.
Thanks a lot! I use QuickWeather and it’s very good, but not so much the radar
For Canadians, Environment Canada has a fantastic app called WeatherCan that includes all of the usuals, has doppler radar for all of North America with the option for a one or three hour loop.
It also includes alerts from Environment Canada for any location you’ve added and links to the marine weather forecast site.
Flowx is really great. The only app that I pay a subscription for, but if you want basic weather then the free tier will be all you need.
I personally use Weawow currently, but I used Windy before.
I second weawow. It’s got everything I want in a weather app: clean UI, customizable homescreen widget, and you can pick which provider it uses for the weather data.
I use weather.gov and use their charts and stuff. If this is specifically because of the eclipse, check out eclipsophile.com .
I use Rainy Days for the radar, and - since I’m in the UK - the Met Office weather app, which has a Next Rain widget.
I use/like “Radar Scope” it is a radar, not forecasting app.
There are plenty of options on F-droid. Right now I use Clima
Rain Alarm! It’s great, and you can customise alerts too
Weatherzone works great for me but I think it depends on where you live
I use weather&radar by wetter online GmbH on android, it’s free version is good, but worth the upgrade to remove the adverts and increase the zoom on map. Météobleu is very nice, and has beautiful animation, but It’s not all to my tastes.
I use 1Weather, because it’s the Baconreader devs and it also happens to be an awesome weather app!
I stopped using 1Weather when push notifications became clickbait. “Cold weather sweeping the country, will you be affected?” You already have my zip code, you tell me.
I don’t have notifications on but that doesn’t sound great. I can see that making sense if I was travelling a lot but not in normal use.
