However, despite her 14 years, I am certain her only mission in her remaining years is to make me question my sanity.

She purrs very loudly whenever I come near. She welcomes my touch, she knows all the sweet things to purr in my ear.

Then she shits in my bed.

And it’s not runny or slurry or abstractly bad. It’s just a non-smelling turd. Like a nondescript day at the office on a Tuesday.

I don’t know how to handle this cat, graciously gifted to me by my girlfriend’s girlfriend. This cat is an enigma.

Could be age/health issues. Could be she doesn’t like the litterbox filler that you use.

Note that purring does not mean she is ok. It means she trusts you.

I’ve heard that cat shits in weird places can be a territorial thing. It may well be a problem caused by the cat being in a new location, that goes away by itself after the cat has had enough time to spread it’s odour about the house.

after the cat has had enough time to spread it’s odour about the house.

So just wait until she put a turd on every surface, then her mission is accomplished and she will stop.

My siamese started pooping in random places when she was really sick…

and about the purring, it could mean many things. Another cat of mine was going through a really rough medical condition a few years back and i stayed by her through all the process. She was almost unable to breath, and yet, she purred like never before.

When did she came to you? Could she be stressed?
