minus-squareAntient@beehaw.orglinkfedilinkarrow-up4·1 month agoI never liked Chrome and this is one more reason not to use it. I use Brave with its built-in adblocker and I recommend it.
minus-squareFish [Indiana]@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up26·1 month agoI wouldn’t recommend Brave for 3 main reasons: Chromium-based Funded by venture capitalists Supported by crypto and ads Unfortunately, Firefox and its forks are really the only alternative to Chrome.

minus-squaretechnocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 month agoI’m pro-crypto enough that I tried Brave but anti-crypto enough that I had to stop. The popup ads were melting my brain and the payment wasn’t worth it.
minus-squareAntient@beehaw.orglinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 month agoI disabled the popup ads, as they are not essential for using the browser. I ignore the whole crypto part of Brave and I use it like any other browser, except that it is faster and has a built-in ad blocker.
