Mr P finally tested negative this morning. I’m off back to work, broke as a joke! Wish they hadn’t taken away sick pay for casuals, would’ve really helped. I know you get paid a little extra and you’re meant to tuck it away in case you get sick, but in a single income family that ain’t happening.

Thats kind of the point. I think they might’ve even mentioned that in the film haha

      Deadpool and Wolverine?

It helps if you’ve been following the Marvel universe, but the movie did a good job with exposition I think.

      Very entertaining flick.

I realised I haven’t had Vegemite in a long time. I’m ashamed to admit it, but it’s been about 1-2 years since I last had it. I remedied that with some Vegemite toast. I dont usually eat breakfast, but sometimes you just need that nice kick to start the day. And it’s useful because it’s actually got some food value, especially with wholemeal or high fibre bread. Unlike most cereals which are essentially just flavoured sugar

    Baku ♥️ vegemite

I have vegemite every day! It’s the breakfast of champions, although mine is on a home made spelt sourdough.

        Sourdough 🤤🤤🤤🤤

I only have sourdough on a fancy day when I get eggs Benny from a nice cafe. There’s one near be that does a bleeding Jane one or something like that. Basically just eggs Benedict, but they put sriracha in the eggs and over the top. Pretty good with a tall OJ!

It’s easy and cheap to make sourdough at home Baku, a few of us here do it. I’m sure we could set you up with some starter!

I’m not sure I quite have the brain (or consumption) capacity to make bread at home. I usually only eat bread a couple times a week, and wouldn’t eat sourdough enough to be worth it

😝 The Daily Chair. I gave the chair a rub down using the finest sandpaper and then applied the 3rd coat with long strokes being careful for drips.

It’s look so glossy and awesome. Can’t wait to use it on a daily basis. 🙂

Despite mrs b’s lack of enthusiasm, and a little bit more lenience from her than I would like I’ve gotta say the bedtime routine seems to be working a lot better with the kid. That’s night 2 he’s gone down after 2 stories without it being a shit fight. And we’re only 3 days into the routine.

    Great Ted Cat update.

Ted asked to have his face brushed and the rest of him brushed too. He likes it and I think he sees the need for it. Sadly he isn’t a low maintenance Neeb he’s a high maintenance Blue Himalayan, which explains his very cute face.

He has knots that we are working on. 😿

I got some bad news from the TAFE company. Apparently they’ve run out of funded places for the course I wanted to take, but I was able to get a place before they did. Unfortunately apparently without as many free TAFE people, and the absence of many paying people, they don’t have enough people to start the course anymore. Is this a normal thing in the TAFE world? It sounds odd

They offered me a few other options. There’s a few courses I could switch to, notably a dual cert IV in community services + AOD. I was planning on taking a dual IV in AOD + Mental health next year, so I’m open to the option, but I’m not confident I have the skills and capacity to do that. It’s still 1 night a week, but 3 hours instead of 2, and for 15 months.

The other 3 options are essentially all variations for cancelling in some capacity. I can either go take an induction to community services course, which doesn’t really give me anything, although I can then do a credit transfer in a cert III/IV, or I can cancel and find a different provider (I have not sentimentalities for these ones, they were just the first one suggested to me and seemed decent enough), or I can cancel and go on a waitlist for their next cert III, probably next year

That’s nuts. I’m sorry Baku. Idk what the right solution is, but if it were me, I’d just cancel and find a different institution.

Is this a bigger place (like Box Hill, holmsglen, Swinburne etc) If so ask them about advice on alternate courses and could they help you enrol at another institution, seeing as they cancelled the course. No guarantee they will say yes, but hopefully they may be able to help. No harm in asking. But from your previous comments though, sounds like there was lots of stuffing around anyway, so I’m wondering if it was a smaller organisation or private college? If so, probably for the best. You might have dodged a bullet on having a bad experience, they sound very disorganised. Use your motentum to find an enrolment elsewhere. You got this! It’s just a blip, don’t let it get in the way of your goals.

Is there another training organisation in your area offering the course you want? Because I say go for it, you’re ready to do it so get it happening.

Learning modules through work are always a terrible experience. Why are they so clunky and difficult to use? They could just be forms with embedded images and videos

State government ones are pretty bad as well, so much time wasting and they require you to click everything on the page to even be allowed to proceed to the next slide.

I did accessibility testing on some when I worked at the DET. They were so bad. All I had to do is be able to use a screen reader and TAB through all the options, so many failed at that.

Apparently accessibility needs to be scoped into these things from the start, they don’t build them with those features in mind
