The PS5 Pro will sell for $1200 here. You can get a cheap gaming PC for that price and have access to your Steam, GOG, and Epic library, as well as using it for everything else you can use a PC for. Get a controller and a loungeroom keyboard and you can use it from the couch just as easily as a console.
That’s my reason against. If you’ve already got games on PS5 then it’s a harder argument against it
Don’t ask me. Just this week I’ve bought one for the child’s birthday in December. I’m having the hardest time not spilling the beans because he is gonna lose his mind when he gets it.
to be blunt, then I cant see a good reason NOT to get a PS5 if its what you really want.
keep in mind a steamdeck is now around 700 bucks though, and EVENTUALLY most Sony games come to steam.
with a dock I think so yeah. But the steamdeck isnt the most powerful thing in the world hence the price. the ROG Alley or Lenovo Legion thing may be a better bet, but then they are more expensive.
OK guys I need some help.
What are 3 reasons why getting a ps5 is a bad idea.
Edit: waiting till Sunday. I want to have a good night out tomorrow and I know if I grab one today, tmrw night ain’t happening.

Damn good point. My current studio pc is a 5600x 32gb ram and an rtx 2070 with some m2 ssds.
Say I was to build a higher spec studio pc, would my current one be enough for gaming?
Spending maybe too much time with it?
Are you thinking of disc or digital unit?
Disc. And that was my concern. I’m trying to rebuild my social life after 7ish months of forced hermitage.
Yeah. I think that’s the my main fear.
As long as you’ve got enough self control to prioritise things and not let it get away from you then I think it’d be ok.
vendor lock-in
because you just bought an amp :)
Damn good point!

Dude if my parents bought me a ps5 for my birthday I would go absolutely nuts!!!
Have you finished BG3 yet?
I had to sell my ps5 when I was unemployed so never got to finish bg3
ok so to be realistic, do you have enough savings that if the company went under tomorrow you’d be ok till you secured a new job?
I have about 6 months of savings. It was the first thing I did when I get my first couple of paycheques.

Does the steam deck connect via hdmi to TV?
