They must be panicking because they’ve found so few instances of illegal immigrants voting that even their delusional supporters won’t buy it. If they had found a couple thousand they could probably spin it as “these are the ones we found, there’s probably tens of thousands we haven’t!”, but I bet they’ve only been able to find less than a hundred so now they’re looking for a scapegoat to blame their failure on.
I can’t imagine why an illegal immigrant would want to vote. The whole thing is ludicrous.
it just endangers them to be found. it’s ridiculous. illegals want to lay low. they are not the trouble makers right wingers paint them to be
They also pay taxes without receiving benefits.
“No taxation without representation” exception list (updated 2024):
- Non-Citizen Residents
- Residents of all
colonies“territories” (including DC) - Ex-Cons
BlacksChildrenWomenNon-Landowners
You should add residents of Washington DC to your list
Do our territories pay tax? It looks like they do… and they definitely have no representation (non-voting delegates, non-autonomy, the only thing they get is the ability to raise issues and vote on committees, and frankly that’s nothing.)
Done. I knew I was forgetting something, and probably still am.
Right? Like, that’s your thing right? Stealing money from people? How does this part not excite you? Do you even realize that this is happening?
Voters are convinced they’re “stealing” benefits and politicians know the score. Yet another reason we’ll never meaningfully deal with immigration.
I know many citizens who think voting is ludicrous. The system is broken and it’s definitely not the fault of illegal immigrants.
I’ll bet they can’t find one illegally cast vote that was counted. People talk like it’s really uncommon. No, it’s so uncommon it never happens. I read some research that was done over a ten year period and they found less that 40 cases of vote fraud, almost none of which were for national office, and none of which had ever affected an outcome.
Vote fraud in the US it’s effectively zero.
with all this projection, some one should check Ted Cruz’s immigration status.
Just saying. maybe we can deport him back to Canada.
They won’t be panicking. They made up the lie that non citizens are voting, they know it’s not true.
They fail to realize the calls are coming from inside their house
I, for one, welcome the Republican scrutiny on voter fraud so that we can finally find and address the cases of Republican voter fraud.
That would be funny to watch them realise in real time that they are the baddies they fear. Sadly I doubt it would last more than .0000000000001 of a second, team politics
They’re just in the phase of making bullshit requests and lawsuits without evidence so they can rile up the base about Biden being a party to voter fraud.
(my bold)
The lawsuit escalates Paxton’s hunt for noncitizen voters just two weeks before the election and a day after early voting began in Texas. He has pressed Texas Secretary of State Janet Nelson to request that the federal government hand over data the state could use to cross-check its voter rolls.
His timing is impeccable.
Paxton is a criminal and belongs in jail.
Name a single Texas state government official that isnt/doesn’t.
Probably some clerk in El Paso who really fucken hates their job.
His timing is impeccable.
You misspelled impeachable.
Texas needs to be sued for being Texas.
Can we title these as Paxton instead of Texas? Texas is a big place and he’s hated near universally.
And yet they were apathetic enough to let him get reelected
I think apathh is a huge part of how so many of our politicians get elected. Everyone knows who the top 2 candidates are for president but don’t have a clue when it comes to the local politicians who are directly impacting where they live. So much easier to vote down party lines.
The Bibi of the South.
Fuck Texas.
Surprising restraint from Paxton. I half expected him to just pick everyone with a “Mexican sounding” name then assume they’re illegal.
He’ll still do that, but now he wants to courts to publicly say that it’s ok for him to do it.
