Are we going to do this type of comparison to hype up every game that hasn’t been released yet?
“We want to make a game and just have people say, ‘Man, that’s amazing game, and oh, it happens to be strategy.’ That’s the goal.”
That’s a dumb goal.
Genres (or the mechanics they indicate) define games, even among people with broad tastes.
Is comparing a game to baldurs gate 3, the new ‘darksouls of X’ ?
It is of course marketing aimed at Star Wars fans who have never played a strategy game before and who may be reluctant to buy it because it is a strategy game.
It doesn’t bode well for the strategy aspect of the game. Or maybe it is just PR bs, who knows.
