Because no one wants to learn something new like postgres, vendors haven’t adopted other databases platforms other than SQL, and licensing is absolutely stupid expensive for SQL, so most companies just stay on what they currently run. It costs money to hire new employees who know other databases types, and it costs money to train current employees, it’s just an absolutely stupid vicious cycle Microsoft has created. The barrier of entry for new versions of SQL is so high, that it’s just not worth the hassle and the price.

Look I get what you’re saying, but they’ve realistically made two stinkers, Andromeda and anthem, and I actually like Andromeda not to mention it was made by a completely different and brand new studio that probably shouldn’t have called themselves Bioware.

I also enjoyed inquisition, it was fun and had a ton of commercial success as well as a really good final expansion that was universally praised. I get Anthem really burned a ton of bridges, but it’s not on the scale that places like Reddit like to make you believe. The gameplay was legitimately fun, the story was awful and all over the place.

Gaming is absolutely there, if you want to say something about anti cheat and whatnot that’s fair, but my gamescope enabled, AMD fsr utilizing arch install is performance parity to Windows 10, if not more performant. I’m not giving up that performance gain for an insanely small handful of games. You do you I guess.

I’ll just jump ship completely and use my Linux install 100% of the time. If I need to use a more mainstream OS for some stupid reason I’ll just use my Mac.

Because it IS a cheaply built gamer device in a generic OEM shell. Pretty sure Microsoft has gotten enough flak for handheld Windows that they’re starting to build gamescope type optimizations like directSR. It’s not enough for me to switch back but maybe it is for others, who knows, hopefully Microsoft can stop riding the AI hype train to eventually build something to make armorycrate obsolete.

Xbox gamepass: for my kids, but they’re not really using it, so I may cancel it for good.

Ps plus: for me, I prefer PlayStation over Xbox and I love all the classic PlayStation games on it.

They’ve tried this before, it didn’t work out, apple Rosetta is pretty damn impressive for what it does but they have the advantage of having the same hardware specs to go with the software, Microsoft didn’t have that luxury, and no, surfaces don’t really count.

Where did I say dlss is inferior? I’ve used them both, dlss is better quality yeah, fsr has better frame generation with less latency. Fsr isn’t as good, it gets the job done though and is available on literally everything unlike Nvidia. If you have Nvidia use dlss, if not use fsr, if you hate yourself then use XeSS.

Get an Xbox then and use m/KB with crossplay. Or play better games, apex runs through proton, get them to play that instead. Anyone switching away from cod is a good deed.

I actually feel bad for people on windows 11. People, please just switch to Linux already. There just isn’t any real reason to stay on it anymore, and if you do you’ve got some ridiculous bullshit niche setup that 0.1% of people use. And for people on Nvidia just grab that Nvidia pop_os ISO for that idiot proof setup, seriously, there are no more excuses and it’s really not any more difficult to use than Windows. Don’t listen to people saying you have to open a terminal to do anything either, that’s a straight up fucking lie, and if you really have to, then copy/paste is all you need to know.

If you have to use rtx and dlss to justify your overpriced graphics card, then there’s AMD fsr that can be forced on damn near any game you want, it’s not as good but it gets the job done, as for Ray tracing, come on…be real with yourself for 5 minutes, what game other than control has use Ray tracing in any meaningful way other than to look pretty?

Windows is just not worth the hassle anymore, wake the fuck up people.

I feel like this is Bioware’s hail Mary, the fact is they dug up this franchise from the dead after anthem flopped and probably want to make a game in an established franchise that they felt they could deliver a successful product. I hope it turns out great, I love Bioware games, been a fan for a very long time and the Bioware name deserves more recognition than what people give it these days. They don’t even have the comfort of swtor to give them a little side revenue anymore since they had to sell that off. Hopefully this game turns out as good as they hope it does, I know I will play it if it’s good.

Currently have a 6a, the fingerprint sensor was garbage when I first got it but Google really did some work to improve it over the years. It’s not perfect but it works.
