I haven’t figured out how to create a community yet but it’d be really rad if someone did a birds aren’t real one!

This website is the only one with memes that make me actually laugh out loud. Well done sir and/or ma’am 😜
It’s actually more dangerous (for the pregnant person) to abort than to deliver at that age. Not saying the punishment makes sense but most babies can survive being born after 22 weeks so it is understandable to classify it as a type of murder or even manslaughter.
Unless the outrage is about the pregnant person being sentenced rather than the one who performed the abortion, in which case no wonder they’re so upset
Personally I still use other websites to get news about niche topics sinse Lemmy is small, but I genuinely much prefer Lemmy for general memes news and whatever else pops up! I genuinely think the funny post are much better than on Reddit.
Me too; I prefer Lemmy now but I’ve gone to specific subs on Reddit when I didn’t know where else to find certain info and I’ve noticed a serious reduction in both quantity and quality of posts. I kept wondering if it was in my head but it’s so many different subs I think it must be the case. Good riddance!
I generally can’t afford monthly streaming services but I can occasionally afford to donate 2-5 dollars to someone who made a show available to me 🤷
I kept reading it as Daniel Radcliffe and I was like why the HECK is he working there?
We have a cloth diaper like this and it’s awesome
I didn’t know a lot of this, thank you for explaining! I wasn’t aware of the background at all beyond seeing the cute pictures haha
You are correct, that is what I meant!
I believe there is only one in the whole country
I know Catholics and Anglicans have liturgy of the hours, but based on what I learned in my studies they have never been mandatory save for priests and nuns! Contrasted with Islam where praying five times a day is one of the five pillars of the faith and salvation is seen as dependent on those.
Well like I said I have no issues with the holidays being changed! Either adding more or changing the dates so everyone can celebrate their own religious or non religious traditions on the same days. Agree with you about Sundays too, nobody should be forced to work that day but otherwise I don’t think it should be treated differently. I don’t think that changes the leaving class to pray points though.
The Muslim Christian comparison doesn’t really hold up, holy days they actually get off happen 2-3 times a year but Muslims have to pray five times a day every day. I would hope if a Christian or any other religion (or heck non religious students who need a mindfulness break) would be respected for a prayer break. Otherwise it would be unfair.
That said more holidays sounds great so by all means give us the Muslim ones off of school too 😎
I have so much anxiety about that cat jumping in the water and imagining how he’d get out
I think the part these points miss is that a lot of kids don’t have good or involved parents, and they shouldn’t have to suffer disproportionately because of it
