Hey fellow 3d guy ! do get a standing desk, it’s amazing. I made mine from a kqueo stand and a board from the local carpenter. It doesn’t replace the need for working out/walking/running a bit every day, but it’s certainly an improvement. I love that you do silly voices. I’ve had that opportunity recently and loved it. We were recording for a short film and were missing a voice for the big baddie, so I whipped out my most fearsome growl and it worked not too bad

We’re in Mayotte. Two undersea cables connect us to nearby continents (cf submarinecablemap.com) but they’re down most of the time. We haven’t had a connection in the last six months so we finally subbed to Starlink. Well, strictly speaking there was a connection but it would take anywhere between 5mn to 15mn to load the text of a static webpage, no images or anything else… forget about sending data, using forums… I had to get out and walk uphill for a minute or two to use my phone’s cell data

I am taking an interest in Linux again because of many factors and I’d like to minimize the chances of having to try out many things things before settling on a distro that works for me. I generally don’t want to tinker, as long as the tool disappears and does its job well. So far I was under the impression that was the case with Gnome (my last experience dates back to Fedora 19 and Gnome whatever).

damn, starlink is my only way to access the internet. I wish there were an alternative that’s usable. Traditional access providers don’t work and cell data is extremely slow and there’s no coverage where I live. I pay for Starlink with a bitter taste
