I really don’t think so, unless it’s part of someone’s explicit wishes/religion etc. It’s important tor respect what they want rather than assume. Otherwise I view dead bodies the same as poop. They need to be disposed of properly and all that. Also who’s to say a traditional burial is ethical? I’d feel claustrophobic.

I feel like this happens every year. We really should start scheduling it to end at 11:30 to account for a bit of bleed over. A lot of us rely on dead-on timing when it comes to eating. Hell, it’s all most of us can think about when it’s 11 already. Anyways, I feel like this one is off to a great start already.

I completely agree with all of that. Forgiveness is merely a bandaid for a broader solution, but providing intermediary relief is not saying we shouldn’t also address the root cause.

Forgiving student debt would provide financial relief for 50million+ (a good chunk of the country) and would quite literally provide an economic boon instantly. Not to mention the millions of POC that would give immediate upward mobility. If the govt can bail out big business and forgive their PPP loans during the pandemic they can afford to cut student loans. I agree with you on your other points though.

If you’re gonna huff at helping people in need with your tax dollars (which by the way stimulates the economy when we invest in equity I.e. I agree! I think algorithms made with a profit incentive are harmful. I also think tiktok has been super impactful in a positive way to bring people together in a more human way than traditional sm allows for.

It’s an algorithm based social media platform. There’s so much on there beside what you see from clips etc. Just like anything else.
