  • From my experience,I personally agree with that sentiment. A lot of parents and parents to be put a lot on their kids that doesn’t need to be there, many don’t understand how much work it will be, and a lot put in much less work than they should.

It sounds like you are or would be an engaged parent to know it’s a lot of work to raise a little individual, but there are many people from many backgrounds.

  • Idk, Mynorthwest is a real source but it’s mostly dull local news fare with a some good event coverage. KIRO is that branch and its okay, its center right, it certianly isn’t the cinclair broadcasting station, thats komo 4. 710 sports is more center left but its sports. 770 KTTH where this article seems to be coming from is obviously garbage reactionary conservative radio, but that’s what makes money in radio.

I hate that these are the people I spend most my time with. I like my coworkers just fine, I’ve grabbed a beer with a few. Made unexpected friends. I just hate that I’m forced to spend most my time with a bunch of people whose collective mission is to make money for someone else, and that soneone else is the person who gets to spend a majority of their time with whoever they dam well please.

  • Sure, if I’m in Italy at some fancy restaurant, give me a nice menu to peruse. But most restaurants are turn and burn establishments that make money off volume and I don’t want their dirty menu when I’m trying to get cheap happy hour food after work or quick lunch take out.

All the nicer restaurants I’ve been to either have physical menus as the standard, or it’s a more “hip” place and they have them upon request.

This is weird how it’s been such a cultural dividing line. It’s like the last place consumers feel like they have any influence and are leaning hard into it

  • Look, I’m not going to, and I dont want to, convince you to like it. And you wont convince me to not like it. It’s art, it’s subjective. That’s okay.

However, If you compare it to other media popular for it’s target audience, it’s very much in line with the attitude and humor. Television shows like Fleabag and Insecure, books like Ottessa Moshfegh’s My Year of Rest and Relaxation or Raven Leilani’s Luster. If you are enjoying or following this movement in art, and are a part of that conversation, you would probably think it’s good, funny, interesting.

Look it’s not for you, why isn’t that okay? Does everything I’m the mcu need to be for you, or can the space be big enough for others?

  • I disagree that her character wasn’t showing growth. Idk what you think she should have grown towards, but she was making decisions (good and bad, like humans do) and living with those consequences. It feels like there was a bigger arch they were building towards that we just didn’t get to yet.

But I get that part of it is objective. For me and my experience, I would say she was showing growth.

This is where the conversation of “misogyny” comes in. Its not for you, so its “bad.” It’s okay that the humor wasn’t for you. Not everything is for me, and not everything has to be for you. There is plenty of media that isn’t for me that I still would say is objectively good, even if I’d never put it on purposefully.

I think that show was trying to bring in people that were not the mcu normal demographic. For someone whose hunor and tatses are a little different. I watched that show with friends that aren’t into marvel at all and enjoyed it.

But maybe there were too few like me whose ven diagram of intrest and experience converged where that show was trying to live.
