Sometimes the liquid nitrogen lines to the pods fail, sometimes you get a prolonged power outage, sometimes there’s a leak in the pods themselves that allows coolant to evaporate, etc.

I mean yeah, but I they were talking about net neutrality, preventing ISPs from unilaterally making those decisions, not that there would be Literally No restrictions.
I doubt it. Cryogenic preservation is probably possible, but current methods likely do too much damage to the person’s tissue to ever be salvageable, especially since most of them were dead for hours before being frozen. Their brains were unrecoverable before they even entered the pods. Ideally you’d want to be frozen more or less immediately. As in “the process begins while you’re still alive and they euthanize you on the table inside the cryogenics facility” immediately.
Plus a lot of these companies experience regular refrigeration failures, which is probably what caused the corpses in the meme to liquify like that.
I mean, the correct answer is just to pirate it, but you could probably fool it into thinking you’re on windows by changing the user agent string of your browser to Chrome Windows x86_64
SSDs boot fast enough that I just hard shut down windows at night whenever I have to boot into it – usually for games, since all my non-vr games run on Linux but I have a Quest 2, and Linux support for those is Incredibly sketchy.
It can’t wake from sleep/hibernation if it’s fully powered off and there’s no windows code running to wake it.
I’ve had free prime for years, I signed up for a free trial on an empty visa gift card. Every time I log in, it complains that they couldn’t collect payment, but it keeps giving me prime benefits, I’m coming up on 2 years like this.
Honestly, I’m just using a cheap Android TV box with stremio and smart tube. Those two apps pretty much cover everything I’d wanna watch. Those $20 Walmart ones are super easy to root/bootloader unlock too, so you can put lineageOS on it if you want
Honestly, worst case scenario, if YouTube manages to completely eliminate adblockers, maybe by making some kind of cryptographic system where the browser has to provide a token embedded inside the ad video stream in order to access the video, I would still use an extension to mute sound and draw a black bar over the ads while technically playing them in the background, it’s not the wait time that bothers me, it’s how repetitive and obnoxious the ads are, I just don’t want to perceive them.
Presumption of innocence is a legal rule, not a good epistemic rule. If it turns out that he’s found innocent, then cool, good for him. However, I’m going to keep assuming that Republican politicians charged with/accused of sexual misconduct are guilty until proven otherwise because the rate of sexual misconduct among Republican politicians seems to be Insanely High, plus their ideology and policies help justify it.
Although I don’t think arrests should be public record, cops can arrest people for anything regardless of evidence and particularly for something as serious as CSAM possession it should at least have to go to trial to be made public
Frame it however you want, you’re not even wrong. It still remains true that, if elected, Trump is going to try to end democracy and replace it with a fascist dictatorship. Biden is Not going to do that.
That’s literally it, that’s the only relevant factor to consider when deciding if you’re going to vote for Biden. I hate him as much as everyone else, but I don’t hate Biden more than I hate the idea of getting put in a camp for being trans at some point down the line, and if you do you’re shortsighted and you value your ability to feel Morally Pure over actually doing anything.
It’s possible to oppose Hamas and the Israeli government at the same time. Hamas being fundamentalist terrorists doesn’t retroactively justify the Israeli government forcing millions of people into ghettos without access to clean water and regularly subjecting them to state violence. Or the ongoing settlement program, where Palestinian towns are forcibly evacuated and their property/homes stolen and given to Israeli settlers.
Two things can Both be bad at once, especially since the only reason Hamas exists is because of the desperation of Palestinians caused by Israeli state policy. Netanyahu’s government even gave them money at one point, because Hamas is good for his political goals. Hamas prevents a more democratic, progressive resistance to the occupation from forming, which makes it easier for Netanyahu’s government to justify their ongoing genocide/ethnic cleansing.
I haven’t had this happen using ublock origin, but if they do figure out how to block ublock origin, adnausiem (ublock origin fork) might work. It’s a fork of ublock origin that tricks the ad providers into thinking you clicked on every ad, which not only bypasses a lot of adblock detectors, it Actively costs them money by polluting their ad data with garbage.
With liquid nitrogen, which needs to stay refrigerated to remain liquid.
