From my experience as someone who lives in Alberta and who considers himself English Canadian, no one here actively hates french language or culture. We simply don’t have enough of a need for french or enough of a cultural presence to really embrace it, and anyone who wants to has to actively go out of their way to do so. Maybe it’s different in Ontario, but it isn’t racism or hate. We simply don’t use it

People who aren’t good at presentation making think that they are supposed to convey absolutely everything they are saying and be crammed full of information. I was doing a group presentation sometime ago where my group members insisted I put paragraphs of info in my slides and were worried we would fail for not enough information. Even after explaining that they were meant to guide the audience in what I was going to say, they insisted that it was wrong

Its probably because “sick” is a slang term in English that doesn’t have an exact translation in french. From what I can find a word like “génial” or “super” might be closer since “malade” means physical sickness

Note I am also not a native french speaker

I wonder how accurate this is when over half of our province voted for someone pushing this exact policy. As an Albertan, I’ve never understood the independent pension plan. You now have less people paying into it meaning that is less expansive and beneficial to those who need it for zero reason. We also now have to take the burden of managing an entirely separate pension plan too

You have to keep in mind that these ideas are what she would have grown up around all her life and would have been told to her by those around her. You should be happy for people who escape these ideals, not critical that they held them in the first place. It does no one any good
