Hunches and gut feelings. Dreams in waking life.
Yeah France remains one of the most productive countries in the European Union, so they must be doing something right
Here’s an interesting report on France productivity from 2019: https://economy-finance.ec.europa.eu/system/files/2019-11/en_1errapportcnp-10july-final.pdf
Braflix is awesome, it’s my default go-to
If you were to judge based on this list, this would be a poor year for video games
Firefox because of the addons, also because it syncs (weirdly, but still) with Firefox on my pc
Yeah idk what else can be a testimony of a game being a “hut” ; I don’t trust metacritic scores either
Listenbourg from Lidl
Yeah I went to Wikipedia to check the numbers :
The group’s “main catalogue”—songs released between 1962 and 1970—consists of 213 songs
So that’s like 50+ songs that were “hits”, wake me up when Gearbox releases 200+ games and 50 of those are nominated for at least one awards
That was what I was trying to convey thanks for being better at words haha
I remember when gearbox released a video about working on ROR2 after they acquired the IP. The CEO or creative director or whoever was talking about understanding people’s expectations, and called them “users”. Not players, not fans, just “users”. I thought this was a good enough warning that they had no idea what they were doing.
I think it was this video but I don’t remember the timestamp : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzD3jWETeW4 the fact that this is barely a documentary on the history of the game and itself a disguised and for their upcoming (at the time) dlc was another forewarning sign…
On the other hand, since it’s Ubisoft, you’re guaranteed a 70% sale 8 months after release for each of their games. I don’t know why anyone would buy their games on release when they all get deep discounts less than a year later
Unless it’s because so many people fall for their scams that they can afford those kind of sales
Oh wow thanks for the correction, I’ll edit my comment
Most open source projects will have a donation page / link, so it relies on people feeling compelled to donate because the software provided is useful to them.
Lemmy for example has options for financially supporting its development. Some Lemmy instances also feature a link to a donation page to cover the hosting costs.
Some have an organisation behind it, like Firefox has the Mozilla Foundation to finance it. Actually it’s the other way around, see ahal’s comment below
The team behind VLC has a “for profit” branch that adapts the video software for companies, allowing them to also finance VLC’s development in addition to donations.
This is quite a smart solution, good job !
I admire your patience in interacting with such an obnoxious individual lol
They did a good job with their first title (as a new studio) : Weird West had a great recipe for systemic gameplay, I don’t know if it sold as much as they were hoping (and reviews were okay), but they definitely have the right people to work on a spiritual successor to Arkane’s hits
It’s an open world survival crafting tower defense rogue like survivor like early access gacha !
From the about page it looks like it’s a non profit that does not enforse or support candidates or parties, they claim to only try and work on erasing the barriers between voters and the act of voting
I don’t know if this will get as much content as Skyrim has do far, but this is huge, I’m hoping we get to see how deep modders can go
Thanks ! Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of people mentioning Factorio, which I have not played yet, but I think it’s an excellent choice as well considering the requirements!
lol kickstarter is an even worse business model for video games, they have even less incentive to deliver if they get funded
They have a loooooooooong way to go
