Up to you. If a website bans me for a “super shitty reason” I think I would just not engage with that website. There are several others to go to, dozens even.

Any of those reasons would indicate to me to move on.
Usually when a community bans you it means they don’t want you to be there. Could try going somewhere else?
Could probably also appeal, but personally if I get banned somewhere I just accept it and move on. Better for the ol’ mental health.
Haha literally what planet do they live on?
That was quite a segue into complaining about inflation.
Oh hey, I think I’m the guy from that post! Lol
Glad you’re enjoying it! I’ve been having a lot of fun with it too - even if my wife sometimes thinks I’m crazy when I “just quickly run over here” to check the hours for this place, haha.
My “Global Rank” is a bit over 5000, but I’m not sure if that’s the same number as you’re looking at, given the range. 400th in Canada, though!
1: Does IBM even have an LLM that would be considered “good” these days? Maybe they do, but I haven’t heard about it.
2: If this was in 2019, no wonder it flopped. Only very recently have we gotten to a point where this should’ve even been considered (and then, in my opinion given the current state of LLMs, dismissed).
3: More than 100 stores were testing this?? Did they not think to start with like, one store and see if that worked at all?
4: While a short-lived victory, this is still a win for people that rely on these jobs. Good for them.
I mean, there isn’t really one singular instance for Canada lol.

Oh absolutely, I just meant to say that technically I am on a “local instance”.
Yeah, that’s the stuff that makes this difficult. I can talk all day about what “makes sense”, but you throw one corporate executive into the mix and everything falls apart.
sh.itjust.works is Canadian last I checked, though it isn’t readily apparent.
Not sure if I’m able to change my username (and too lazy to check right now), but that’s honestly not a bad plan.
On the other hand, with more money going to the US alternatives, there’s more potential for a US company to step into that niche once it’s open.
Not that it’ll necessarily happen obviously, but it does make it a bit easier at least.
Also, I feel like I should add the disclaimer of “I’m not American.” I wish I could show my country next to my username or something lol.
Some folks on Lemmy recently recommended StreetComplete, and I’ve been really enjoying it so far.
It’s a “Pokémon Go” style thing, but you go around answering simple questions about your surroundings which are then used to update/improve the data on OpenStreetMap.
One concern I considered after using the app was that because your contributions are uploaded to OpenStreetMap, in theory I imagine someone could use that data to track where you are / where you’ve been / where you tend to be. So just be aware of that.
I’m at the age now where I’m thinking about getting into it.
Ngl, I’m torn on this because I’m honestly not sure I could stop using YouTube.
I hate ads with a burning passion, though, so we’ll see which wolf wins out there.
If i can’t get around this using something like SponsorBlock, I feel like I’ll probably just set up some kind of pipeline to download videos and remove the ads myself (maybe using AI if it’s that bad) and just serve them over Jellyfin or something. Gonna be a pain, though.
Fair points all around. Have a great evening!
I don’t disagree that the word should exist, I’m saying it’s become overused to the point of becoming meaningless. Take this entire thread, for instance. This is not enshittification - yet, here we are.
Ngl I love programming assembly, that game seems right up my alley.
