Memos is a great app for this or if you want it local, use DiaryVault
DiaryVault can sync (encrypted) with Nextcloud too. Memos is a serverapp, it has a good responsive webapp

A proper backup of immich contains 3 folders (library, upload and profile) and the database! It is linked to its database. Every software with a database should have a backup of the database too (Paperless-ngx for example)
If you just saved the library folder, you will need to recreate all albums again and upload it again. Maybe the CLI can help you with this.
For the next time, please read the docs about backup and restore
Rsync or rclone are better ways than syncthing. Rsync can copy over ssh out of the box. Rclone can do the same but with a lot more backends. FTP, SSH, S3… It does not matter. Imo is rclone the better choice than rsync in this case. Take a look at rclone.org
Use the app news
It uses RSS and shows it with nice pictures. You can even open the webpage directly, if you tap on a news.
Works as standalone RSS Reader, or with Nextcloud. I recommend standalone, the nextcloud news app seems outdated 🤔
OPML feed import and export are included
Both ☝🏻
Hetzner storagebox. 1 TB for 3,20€ per month
Works with rclone. You can get up to 20TB
If you want S3 object storage, then you can use Contabo object storage
Big plus: no traffic fees ☝🏻
Awesome selfhosted can not show you alternatives to a specific app. You always need to know what you are looking for. It is a static list
Selfhst is better with filtering and shows activity status of the projects. It is not an endless list
Very cool and inspiring list. Bookmarked it 👍
But some applications are just desktop tools like Notesnook (can not find a server version to host) or are android apps like Aegis. It is not a list of only self-hosted apps.
Duplicati needs to get thrown out, it is beta for years and will not work if database gets corrupt (and it will get corrupt), the latest version is from May 2023 (still beta like any other version in the last years 😄)
I just hate subscriptions. Does not matter if it is Netflix or Spotify or any similar business. It is getting a real problem. Here 5 euros for a calendar, there 10 for videos, another 5 for XYZ… In the end you are paying more and more for daily usage
Those triple A studios get the same treatment with not buying / using their product. Microtransactions are a pain too, yes.
It is just a way to give something back to people who would donate anyway.
Now they need to donate monthly or yearly…
The plus features are designed to be bypassable with minimal effort if you don’t want to pay for it.
Same for Photoprism, just build it yourself 🙄
The extra features are not important to use the app as usual.
Not at the moment. I am very sceptical. Same for Kavita. Time will show where the journey goes.
It makes sense for the devs :)
Yes this was Crackpipe. They renamed it
Wow the same shitty step as Kavita… Kavita has an annoying floating donate button, can only disabled with Kavita+
A few features are only available with Kavita+… I am waiting for the point that new features are only available with subscription…
This is like cancer imho and the reason why I switched to Komga. I like to support via donation, but I want to choose when and how much I donate.
Maybe someone will fork GameVault and keep it opensource.
Start a second shell and kill the process 😋
I have a separate network for postgres. Every service which needs a DB is attached to it. I use a single postgres container with several DBs and finetuned with PGTune.
The most important thing as always: proper backups ☝🏻
The only service with extra DB container is Immich, since it uses a custom variant and I am too lazy to modify the existing container 😁
Yes, no breaking changes this time
The new logo looks good and it is not a breaking change 😌☝🏻
Mount a folder to Filestash and you can access it via web ui ☺️
It is a filemanager in the browser, you can click upload there 😁
I can’t wait to migrate from Lemmy to it. Looks good and all Apps should be working with it
Followed Sublinks on Mastodon for updates 😼
You can sync with Nextcloud ☝🏻
Gdrive is for people without anything
