There were apps out there to help with this when I switched from Spotify to Tidal. I can’t remember the name anymore though. It just sucks up all your saved songs and playlists, matches them in the other service then adds them. Almost everything I had moved over without a problem. I do miss the social aspect of Spotify, being able to share links with friends. No one I know has tidal except the people on my family plan. There are services that will turn your song link into a linktree like page with links for Spotify, tidal, YouTube music, deezer, etc., but that’s clunky.

Nextcloud was somewhat difficult for me the first time I installed it, though I did have a usable system in the end. Then I discovered Nextcloud AIO and haven’t had an issue since.

Nextcloud with block storage on btrfs with snapshots seems like it could work for you. No idea about VFS though. I’ll leave that question for someone more knowledgeable. The “drive” portion of Nextcloud is quite decent. I regularly use it to pass large files between my phone (Android), laptop (Linux) and gaming desktop (Windows).

That’s what I use. Didn’t want to influence your decision, but there’s no harm in revealing it after the fact. I do feel like I missed out on some cool features from the other apps I tried, but Eternity was the complete package.

There is no best. My recommendation is to download a bunch, then uninstall them one by one until you end up with the one that you like best. I settled on my favorite, and I had to give up some great apps with great features to get there. What do you value in a forum-style app?

I would start a community space with a dance hall, coffee shop, bike shop, maker space, brewery, and library centered on an urban trail to show people you can go places and do worthwhile things without an automobile. I’d include parking for cargo bikes, trikes and hand bikes, along with upright bikes and chargers for electric bikes. My hope being that the model would spread to other cities and higher density residential developments would spring up around it. Obviously my UBI wouldn’t cover that no matter how generous it was, so step one would be to use my extra time to get buy in from like minded neighbors.

I was outside the path of totality, but saw one during my childhood. Today I made a pinhole camera and took a quick look before my meeting started and was able to see the shadow of the moon maybe 50%-60% over the sun. When I came back out after my meeting it was cloudy.

What does upset mean? Its a bit different if she’s concerned for you vs if she can’t be alone. My wife was concerned for me when I was playing Minecraft until 4am every night during a stressful time in my life. She can’t be alone when she’s in my office during the middle of the workday telling me ten different YouTuber’s life stories. :D

I hope you find the balance that you’re looking for. If your girlfriend feels more social than you, its not necessarily bad to have her call her friends or something. I regularly tell my wife to “call Susan” or something like that when she wants to talk about something that I don’t have any bandwidth for or interest in. As long as you make an effort to connect when you can and don’t neglect her, I think it’s a fair ask.

I’m a person who needs a lot of alone time. It took me a while to learn how to set boundaries with partners. That balance wasn’t easy for me to find. Do you feel like it would benefit you if you got more alone time in your existing relationships?
