“Learning how to learn” is an important skill that I think people overlook. It’s important to know how to get information and understand things when the AI isn’t helpful.
My worry isn’t about “AI taking our jobs”, it’s that people will not learn the skills and abilities to progress beyond junior levels due to relying on AI.
… Or maybe that’s just me being a grumpy old fogey.
Out of interest, what did you have trouble understanding? I’m always curious about how people learn programming and how resources can be improved.
Probably focus “full time” on indie gamedev.
Used to have two, one in beehaw and one on sh.itjust.works, but then drama happened and I decided to embrace the owo. So nowadays I just have this account and a secret other account for posting cringe.
“Please exercise more and get in shape”.
ur cute
I’m shocked and offended at this!
Why would you have “Elon Musk” when just “Musk” is shorter and catches more.
(Also, my sympathies to all the trans people out there who have to put up with this obvious ragebait. You are all valid and I wish you the best. <3)
I like the meaty feast ones, particularly spicy ones. In fact, since discovering hot sauce a few years ago, I’ve been adding it to pretty much all of the pizzas I eat.
If I’m in the right mood, I also do enjoy a good ham and pineapple as well.
Humility.
The OP was founded on a misconception (that all trans people want to look the same). It’s important to realise where you may have flawed logic and call it out. It demonstrates that you are willing to listen and learn. Even something as simple as “this may be confirmation bias, but…” or “Is what I’ve seen common?” goes a long way.
Secondly, you are going to be wrong on the internet. It’s inevitable; you’re going to offend someone or make a faux pas. Take the L, apologise and move on. Look inside yourself and accept “yeah, I goofed”. Don’t live a life where you feel you need to constantly be fighting off “attackers” and defending yourself.
People are much more receptive to peope who demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow.
Confirmation bias is one hell of a drug.
But ignoring that, I can imagine traditionally “masculine” features like facial hair would be particularly appealing to those who have gone their whole life feeling uncomfortably feminine. Like, now they are exploring masculinity, they want to go all in.
I’m interested in what people who are trans think of this.
Procrastinating work.
If anyone loves old game manuals, I’d recommend the game Tunic. It’s such a charming little game and, without spoiling too much, the manual is a core part of it.
I’ll never forgive them for what they did.
That’s a problem here as well. I’m hoping that if we invest more resources into it, they’ll not feel that they have to withhold and prioritise treatment. Give them the resources to treat everyone, rather than the few who tick all the right boxes.
Although that’s just wishful thinking on my part, most likely. And probably also requires social change as well as economic…
Improved access to mental health treatment. We have free healthcare here, but the mental health side isn’t great. This would also include support for those who are neurodivergant, suffering from trauma, experiencing gender dysphoria, etc…
Honestly, I think something that would be good as a policy is that at least once a year schoolchildren see a counsellor. Just to talk about anything that’s bothering them, and give them help for things that are happening in their home life.
Hire that frog.
What an expensive and enviromentally unfriendly way of being petty…
Halogen oven: I live alone, and even though it’s relatively small, it’s big enough for me (unless I want to cook a pizza). It preheats much faster than a regular oven, so meals take much less time to make if I’m just throwing something in it too cook.
Headphone stand: I got a stand that you can hang headphones on, and it’s so much nicer than just tossing it on the table or whatever.
Battery powered lamp with a flexible “spine”. I have an adjustable lamp which charges via usb and has a flexible neck. It saves the hassle of trying to prop up a phone or something with the torch turned on.
Did you know you can get toilet roll holders that have a little shelf for you to put a phone on? If you browse on the can, they’re rather handy.
Extension cables: If you have a desktop or tv, you can just grab some USB, hdmi or audio extensions and swap things using that instead of leaning behind the device.
Egg cooker thingy: I have a thingie that you put a certain amount of water in and it boils an egg using the steam and turns off when done. Saves the effort of setting a timer or boiling a full pan of water.
Kettles: Apparently not a thing in the US? I don’t know how you live without them.
Doomscrolling.
Very badly.
