maybe, but i see quite a few similar reactions in this thread that make me wanna leave this place. its just slowly starting to sink in for me that lemmy is a lefty echo chamber and its basically the same 20 posts rehashed every week by people with worldviews like this. how tf can anyone expect to change anything without hope. Idk man, im just dumping my thoughts but i think im gonna get the hell off this platform and anything similar because it’s not having a positive effect on me.

Do you think society would get to the point it is if everyone just wanted more power for selfish reasons? I think it’s more to do with the feeling of fulfillment that comes with responsabilities. Helping people feels good, even when you get nothing in return. Unless you expect something in return, then we’re playing a different game. But your outlook on life seems pretty bleak my friend.

Hmm, well i can’t really speak to any of that. But for the greater good, unions are a good thing. I understand that it makes difficult for you though.

I’d throw the obvious stuff at you like, but it’s kinda hard to get an idea of what could possibly help without knowing you.

I do know that i’ve had to change my attitude a few times in life to get by though, i don’t think autism should be used as an excuse to not have to do the hard thing everyone has to do (but is harder for us).

Right now, the only advice i can give is to try to channel that resentment into motivation to improve yourself. Trying and failing is so much more valuable than just giving up and being angry about it.

But yeah, i do have it easier than most so maybe it’s not my place to say things like that. I do wish you the best though.

I do feel the same way about things being easier alone though. i would be much happier and productive doing my own thing, I have a ton of software projects i work on, somd even make a bit of money, but running business seems scary since my administration skills are shit and customers are acary.

There’s a certain amount of fundamentals you need, after that point it’s quite easy to hop languages by just looking over the documentation of that language. If you skip those fundamentals, you end up with a bunch of knowledge but don’t realize you could do things way more effectively.

My recommendation: check out free resources for beginners and skip the atuff you already know thoroughly, focusing only on the stuff you don’t know.

Anecdotal but i know i am way more productive when there has been or will be a holiday, for two weeks. I also noticed i feel a lot less drained working 38 hour jobs than 40 hour job, and generally do less at the 40 hour job. So i find it easy to believe this adds up. For an employer it’s hard to see this of course, they just see the raw output of the one thing they’ve been doing.

Hopelessness is about the worst thing for an individual psychologically.

Have you tried working for a small-mid size company? I got the same vibe in big companies, now im in a company of 50 people and they just do not care how weird i am, no middle managers trying to justify their existence, as long as you’re doing your best you’re good. Like i’m sure that doesnt apply to all small companies, but i’d certainly keep it in mind for the future

I’m just a bit disgusted by the concept. Like McDonalds gives the slightest shit about sick kids or whatever. But i don’t know the actual impact or reason they do it, i just distrust it.

Wellp, i can’t. Several games dont boot, some boot but are wonky as hell. Good for you that you have everything you need, i do not. I use gaming as an example, but so many essentials are either not there, or wonky as hell. And that’s assuming you can keep the damn thing running without spending a saturday a month trying to unfuck your system after a driver update or whatever. Sure. I can get all the compatible hardware and do all the research to make sure everything probably doesnt impode, but at that point, why not just use windows.

I use both linux and windows. I am power user. Linux cannot do all the things i need it to, neither can windows, but at least we have WSL and VMs. Try setting up a passthrough GPU just to play a game on linux. Then try setting up an AI application using docker for windows.

I get it, we all wanna root for the underdog, and linux certainly has it’s place, but i am so done seeing this “windows bad linux good” bs
