As the 2024 Democratic National Convention opens Monday in Chicago, we look at the protests planned throughout the week to pressure Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party on key policies, including the ongoing U.S.-backed Israeli war on Gaza. Meanwhile, at least 36 delegates are also inside the convention as official delegates representing the “uncommitted” movement and are advocating an antiwar agenda to push for an end to U.S. arms sales to Israel. Although protesters this week come from a range of communities advocating on various issues, from economic injustice to reproductive rights, “Palestine is at the center,” says Hatem Abudayyeh, spokesperson for the Coalition to March on the Democratic National Convention and national chair of the U.S. Palestinian Community Network. “All of those communities are standing up very publicly and very proudly, saying, 'Free Palestine. End U.S. aid to Israel.'”

    The only reason those shitstain Republican Senators voted no was because they knew it would pass without their support and so they could point fingers and say “DERMERCREATS WAR!”. They’re all equally complicit. I’m all for protests for Gaza, but saying the Democrats have anything more to do with it than Republicans is bald faced propaganda and you should be ashamed of yourself.

      And how does this excuse the Democrats for voting yes in support of funding genocide? They could have all voted no and called it the Republican war, right?

      I agree and I never said that the Democrats were more culpable, just that they are culpable.

      Anywhere you find a big group of at least quasi intelligent people discussing things you’ll find that the Republicans aren’t a popular group

      Except I never defended the Republicans. I stated an objective fact that the Democrats are funding the genocide.

      Since when is being anti-genocide a Republican stance, as you said above, they are just as culpable.

      But Blue MAGA says if you aren’t an unquestioning supporter of whatever Dems do, even if it’s genocide, then you are an evil outsider.

      Edit: also I’m pretty sure those Republicans voted no more because of the part that would go to Ukraine. They gladly support the genocide publicly and don’t try to paint it as a democrat project afaik.
