Essentially, fewer is normally used for discrete numbers of things (e.g. “fewer apples”, “fewer boats”, or “fewer cops”) while less is used for amounts (e.g. “less water”, “less sand”, or “less money”).

As noted in the above link, there are exceptions. However, the exceptions listed are all with “than” or “or” added. Specifically, it’s pointing put that while “fewer items” is correct, “3 items or less” is also considered correct.

In the case of the sign, it is referring to the specific number of officers in the city, so it should use “fewer”. Does it matter? No, not really. Why did I bother saying anything? I got a chance to rep grammar and quote Stannis Baratheon at the same time.

I went with the A1 mini while it was (actually still is) $200 on their website. That’s about as much as we spent on our sewing machine gathering dust, a bit more than our vinyl cutter doing the same, and around the same as I’ve invested so far in mini painting.

To be fair to me, I have so far kept up with the miniature painting.

I have a tendency to get into hobbies for a month or so and then drop them, too, so it being easy to set up and use should help me stick with it a bit more. The relatively low initial investment should soften the blow if I do drop it, too.

Just downloaded all of his sample models and bought another 5 on top of that. I wish that sand worm came with assembly instructions, but he’s getting built one way or another.

They did. The nozzle actually arrived days before the printer, which was somewhat funny. I plan on trying it out a bit tomorrow.

That model appears to be the most frequently recommended one for beginners, from my couple hours of research. Is it just the ease of use, or is the quality there, too?

Yeah, it didn’t seem like it could handle detail at a very small scale. However, making something in the 5-6 cm range would still be wonderful for painting. How do you have to keep it happy?

If it was a publicly available Ethernet port, it was likely for public use. The fact that she thought it was malicious speaks to ignorance on her part, not yours.

Oof. Skyward Sword is probably the worst of the 3D Zeldas, but it was surprisingly solid. That said, you may still be right, although mostly because it’s such a solid series. The 25th anniversary orchestral CD they did with it was fantastic, though.

Looking at some screenshots, that may have been Dementium Remastered as mentioned above by SturgiesYrFase. I’m not sure if it got a demo, and I hadn’t heard of it until about an hour ago, but it’s a guess.

Unless you consider Ace Combat an FPS, the 3DS doesn’t really have any of them that I know of. You’d be better off playing the old DS ones. If you count Homebrew, your options expand a lot. Doom and Quake play wonderfully on the New3DS with the C nub.

As far as my favorite games on it: wow, there are so many. Shin Megami Tensei IV (and Apocalypse), Fire Emblem Birthright, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Pokémon, Monster Hunter 4U. The list goes on.

Making friends on sites like this can sometimes yield invites. There are also usually communities specifically dedicated to giving out invites. And if all else fails, some trackers have open invitations (either time-limited or with some kind of interview).

A common method is to get your feet wet with an easier to get into private tracker and use the invitation threads in it to get into the ones you want.
