I’ve experienced this sort of thing with my car. it’s a old 50s car that had a engine swap and a few mods before I got it. so one one hand everything is universal but on the other hand I don’t know what is stock. I only know what sizes are currently under the hood. which wouldn’t be a problem if the guys at AutoZone or O’Reilly’s knew what the different sizes ment. Before I finally figured out what car my engine came from. id just measure the part I need. come in and tell them the part I need, and they would just sit confused until they just asked me what car is this part going into. sometimes the part happens to be stock bel air size, but sometimes they weren’t and the guy would have to bring the used part to the back. until they found something the right size. Hell even when I ordered online id have to wonder if I’m going to be fighting the “guarantee to fit your car thing.” because I don’t know if stock will work. Here at least you can navigate if you managed to find a conversation calculator. My measurement standards don’t matter no matter what unit I use.

I work as a car photographer in a dealership. We sell cars online so whenever we get a new car or someone trades in their car I take pictures of all the features the car has. However when there’s few cars for me to photo I’m also responsible for checking what cars are dirty. My only complaint is that I don’t really care about Toyotas and I work for a Toyota dealership

Eh there’s also sometimes the foot e brake and sometimes when you’re thinking really fast and maybe have done a few switching from car to car you might just try to start a car and move with the e brake engaged thinking it was a clutch

As a guy who dailys a manual and weekend woriors a automatic car from the 50s it gets even more confusing because dispute not having a clutch it does have a floor dimmer switch so I still have 3 pedals and if I screw it up at night then sorry about blinding the guy in front of me with my upgraded led headlights

Man I have the exact opposite problem I’m always wearing long pants in even the hottest of days because I’m constantly doing physical labor wether it be firewood collecting or shoveling gravel I’m always having shit scraping my legs so I always want some protection also my job has me outside all day long so when winter comes around I’m wearing my pants for the cold it’s a part of my company dress code ultimately I’ve grown accustomed to work clothes to the point that comfort wear like slippers hoodies and shorts are pretty weird and uncomfortable for me for those reasons I just don’t own many shorts because I rarely use them ever

Tbh I’m finding that to be quite the trend for everything today as a car guy do see some cars being cool and fun but compared to the 50s when even their equivalent of a Prius shit box was still trying so hard to look like a god damn spaceship rocket thing with so many colors that almost every car had two colors per car green and pink where common place today everything is ether trying to look like a ford focus or a SUV brick granted I currently work at a Toyota dealership so I’m constantly surrounded by Toyota cars that are in my opinion are the blandest of bland cars that only good because of their reliability Honestly even when modern cars try to copy old car design they always end up looking like the old car having a allergic reaction

Come to think about it I think the reason why us americans associate giant SUVs and trucks with safety is because we’ve gotten so lazy relying on computers and finicky cameras that get covered in mud that I personally feel safer driving my 56 bel air over modern cars because I’m able to physically move my head to see the crap around me not to mention the transmission being a two speed automatic it has a hard time getting to dangerous high speeds but I suppose that doesn’t really matter when everyone else is blind quite frankly I would love a car with modern crash safety and handling while still having the ridiculous lack of blind spots that 50s cars had I actually praise the vw golf for having not only a backup camera that doesn’t get dirty while not doing that stupid thing where for some reason a lot of auto manufacturers think we have a backup camera lets jack the rear seats so the driver has to use the camera that gets covered in mud or make the rear windshield flat enough to become unusable during winter thank you Volkswagen for not doing that with the golf I can have the backup camera and my physical neck to look behind me

I had this happen to me when I watched aldnoa zero interesting mechs and intriguing combat scenarios but man are the characters boring and the politics and motives of the world are just dumb but it has just enough good concepts to make me genuinely pissed about liking the show because it boring by all means but it’s interesting enough for you to not forget about it
