Former President Donald Trump vowed to change the 25th Amendment to allow for the removal of the vice president if they hide the “incapacity of the president.”

During a Saturday rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, Trump offered a new proposal to modify the 25th Amendment. Trump and his supporters have often attacked Joe Biden by alleging he is mentally unfit to serve as president while claiming Kamala Harris has hid this fact from the public.

The 25th Amendment in the U.S. Constitution is designed to set up a line of succession if the president dies or becomes incapacitated. It allows the vice president to become president if the president dies, resigns, or is removed from office by impeachment.

    1. He really wants to run against Joe Biden still.
    2. He wants a mechanism to get rid of Vance
    3. Both?

yeah pretty clearly this on top of #s 1/2. He’s been saying people convicted of a crime need to always serve time behind bars, yet his convicted ass remains outside

He’s just mad pence is worse at it.

Also that would be an amendment.

Furthermore he’s the sort of person who’d lose his shit upon learning FDR couldn’t walk.

If he’s sweating, it’s only because he’s afraid that Trump will die before the election.

I swear that Trump’s handlers and/or Peter Thiel got him to pick Vance because Vance is all in on Project 2025. They don’t give a crap about Trump as long as he lives long enough for the election to be stolen for him. Then when he drops we’ll be stuck with President Vance who will gleefully run with all the fascist crap they can think of.

He’s projecting, again. What did his whole administration do, but cover for him?

He’s threatened and taking a scattershot approach.

I’m not a fan of this. The government covers up things for the sake of stability and this is one of those things. If your president is incapacitated, he doesn’t resign, and isn’t removed, publicly admitting that he’s incapacitated will welcome all types of attacks from our enemies.

At this point, we’re watching Trump disintegrate day by day and virtually minute by minute.

I’m not sure if he’s even going to make it to the election. It’s really starting to look like he’s going to come apart at the seams before that.

I would like to believe that but there is way too much energy behind this guy. He would have to implode horrifically.

No - I mean Trump personally. Not the Trump campaign, which is a separate thing.

Yeah - the campaign, between the cultish rank and file and the cynically power-hungry donors and operatives - still has a lot of energy.

But Trump the person is visibly coming apart at the seams.

The impeachment process relies on good faith of both parts of Congress. The Senate, controlled by Republicans, at first denied there was evidence, then when presented with obvious evidence decided that they were okay with it and no punishment was needed on a verdict already established (the actual impeachment from the House). It’s like the jurors agreed there was a crime, but the judge said it wasn’t a big deal and let him free.
