The best part is that fully half of these are addressed to my mom…

I’m getting this shit from everywhere I’ve ever lived. I can normally ignore my phone for the most part, but I’m actually waiting on updates about the health of a relative. And this shit needs to stop. No one’s changing their mind cause of a text, guys. No one’s like, “Oh yeah, is it time to vote?” Please, just stop.

I got one that threatened me saying they will know if I voted or not.

It was also sent to the wrong address and someone else had to give it to me asking if I was ok when they saw the hand written threat.

    It’s fucking insane.

Protip: don’t scribble shit out in screenshots. Too easy for people to figure out what’s underneath. Put filled in rectangles over whatever you don’t want people to see so there’s nothing that shows through. Most built in photo editors on phones have this functionality.

Filled in rectangles are so cold and impersonal. The scribbles are organic and remind me I need to brush my hair. Who cares if someone reverse engineers OP’s mom’s name?

I’ve been getting political spam for Florida for years every election cycle. Almost always for Republicans, but I did get one Harris message the other day. The catch? I’ve never lived in Florida and haven’t even been there in over 15 years.

I recognize those area codes! And I also get like 6 of those every day.

Did you sign Elons petition? He only asks if you support the first two amendments, which, technically, I do. I was hoping to win the million and collect it wearing all blue! 😂

FYI, it may actually be illegal to even accept that million dollars. I am not a lawyer, and my understanding is it’s kinda untested legal grounds, but there is an argument for it.

And the worst part? They’re allowed to ignore the national do not call registry.

As annoying as it is, I reply STOP to each one and then block the number. Sometimes I get lucky and get an unsubscribe confirmation.

I hardly get spam texts because I refuse to give my number out for anything. Jenny is my go to phone number when I need to give out a burner number.

Voting is important. There were a few local proposals regarding taxes for example. There were also a ton of different representatives and judges that had to be picked locally. And of course you get to participate in the national president lottery! You pick your option, and if the electoral college picks the same option, then you win! Otherwise, if the electoral college picks a different option, then you loose. Yey! Democracy! I wish the electoral college kept calling my phone every day to tell me how important my vote for president is! It would go like this: " he loo 😂😂😂😂 lol, hold on. Yeah go vote! LOL! It means something! LOL 😆😂😆. We’re picking Trump if you don’t vote! We’re picking Trump if you do vote! LOL your vote is very important to us, a representative will be voting with you shortly LOL!"
