A trove of new records released in the federal election-interference case against former President Donald Trump described how money was spent on Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally near the White House on Jan. 6, 2021.

The newly released documents also show that an unnamed organization budgeted as much as $3 million on the Jan. 6 rally and related events, including for bringing VIP guests and protesters to Washington and ad buys for a show of force.

      Native New Yorker here.

Trump was a fixture in the local media since the 1980s. Back in the day, first wife Ivana was the star of the show and Donnie was the clown who carried her bags.

A local satire magazine, Spy, used to prank him mercilessly. They called him the cheapest millionaire in NY after he cashed a check for 13 cents [less than the cost of a pay phone call]

In 2015 I told a freind of mine that Donnie was actually running for the nomination. She told me that she couldn’t be bothered to think about Donald Trump.

You remember the parodies Z-100 played? “Trump’s in a jam” when he got divorced, a parody of “pump up the jam”? Guy’s been a clown for 40 goddamn years.

She told me that she couldn’t be bothered to think about Donald Trump.

        Funny thing about that…

The former Berlin businessman I referred to earlier told me that he blamed his own group, people with the time and the money and the opportunity to know better, for what happened to Germany. “We ignored Hitler,” he said. “We considered him an unimportant fellow, not quite a gentleman, not of our own class. We considered it just a little bit vulgar to bother with him, to bother with politics at all.”

—Robert A. Heinlein, Take Back Your Government

Not blaming you or your friend for Trump, but reading the book that quote came from made me a lot more engaged in politics on a day-to-day basis.

So… which Trump buddy is the odds-on favorite for running that organization? Steve Bannon? Roger Stone? Peter Theil?

Roger Stone. It’s why Trump pardoned him shortly before but more importantly, Stone was the one who organized the “stop the steal” back in 2000 when Gore’s victory was stolen from him. There a documentary on it.

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, opposed the release … as an example of prosecutors publishing “cherry-picked materials” that “would prejudice potential jurors and endanger potential witnesses”

Wait til he learns what a federal prosecutor’s job is

I know terrorist Charlie Kirk helped finance busses to bring his fellow terrorists to DC. Not surprising at all that there are other Repubs funding terrorism.
